When money issues surface, partners often have entirely different styles of dealing with them. This can lead to disagreements that are easily avoidable with a little training. The system I use defines eight basic “money personalities.” They range from people who spend every penny on “bling” to those who are challenged to spend a penny, and everything in between.
Each of these 8 styles has both gifts and challenges. The secret is to learn and recognize your own, and your partner’s. Then, instead of each trying to make the other see it or do it one way, your awareness helps you create a true collaboration. Both parties, or in a team, all parties, contribute their gifts and support each other’s challenged areas.
Money goes from a battle of wills to a matter of working together. Everyone feels better, businesses prosper and children feel secure, knowing the parents are working together, not against each other. Working together in co-operation with each other’s strengths and weaknesses is always a win-win for everyone. I’m happy to talk to you about ways I can help.
